Vancouver on Canada's Pacific coast is considered one of the most livable cities in the world. Nowhere else do big city and nature lie so close together: glassy high-rises stand right on the water, mountains rise behind them, and in the middle of the city lies Stanley Park, one of the largest urban parks in North America. For many travelers to the USA, Vancouver is the northern conclusion of a West Coast tour.

Stanley Park
The green heart is Stanley Park, a forested peninsula with the popular Seawall waterfront path running all the way around. By bike or on foot, with views of water, mountains and skyline.
Downtown, Gastown and Granville Island
Lively are the historic Gastown district with its steam clock and the colorful market on Granville Island. Add to that a downtown right on the water, with beaches within walking distance.
Nature at your doorstep
In no other big city is nature so close: the gondola takes you up Grouse Mountain with a view over the city, and the mountains of Whistler are only two hours away.
