Yellowstone zusammen mit Jackson und Grand Teton hat halt immer den gewissen Nachteil, dass er an mindestens drei Seiten von relativ viel Nichts umgeben ist, zumindest aus touristischer Sicht. Natürlich ist der Park an sich so genial, dass man das in der Regel gerne in Kauf nimmt. Je nach Routenplanung ist die An oder Abreise mit sechs bis acht Stunden Fahren durch schöne, aber ereignislose Landschaft verbunden.

In short

Yellowstone is the bigger, more varied experience with the famous natural phenomena. Grand Teton is the finer mountain scenery and quicker to take in. If you have to choose, take Yellowstone. But the real secret is to do both together.

They border each other directly and are linked by the same road. Seeing both in one trip is the norm, not a detour.
